 IRATA Rope Access Training

IRATA Level 1 


IRATA Level 1 is an entry level rope access course with attendees requiring no previous rope access training. This IRATA course introduces the various principles of working at height, the safe systems of work, safety equipment to be utilized and provides an introduction to working at heights legislation.

Once you have an understanding of the equipment used for rope access, we’ll get you ‘on the ropes’ and our highly experienced IRATA member instructors will take you through the basic principles of rope access. The practical element of the rope access course will focus on ascending, descending, transferring from rope to rope, replays, deviations and aid climbing.We provide the best  rope access Perth in Australia.    

IRATA Level 2 


Designed for experienced rope access technicians, the IRATA Level 2 rope access course requires attendees to have a minimum 12 months of rope access experience and a minimum of 1000 logged hours. Attendees must be able to perform more complex tasks under the supervision of a Level 3 Rope Access Safety Supervisor; 

Attendee is: 


  •  Able to determine the skills and knowledge required of Level 1; 
  • Capable of more complex rigging, including re-belays, deviations and tensioned lines 
  •  Able to undertake rescues from a variety of situations; 
  • Able to assemble and implement hauling systems. 

IRATA Level 3 


The IRATA Level 3 rope access course is suitable for an experienced rope access technician who is responsible for understanding and implementing rope access procedures, method statements and associated risk assessments.

Attendee is:

  •  Able to determine the skills and knowledge required of Levels 1 and 2; 
  • understands the elements and principles of IRATA’s safe system of work; 
  • is conversant with relevant work techniques and administration; 
  •  has an extensive knowledge of advanced rope access rigging and salvage

Techniques;  
·   holds an appropriate and current first-aid certificate; 
 .   A Level 3 Technician can become a Rope Access Safety Supervisor.


 Additional Training 


  • Refresher Training, Re-validation & VOC programs are available.


  • Due to the aptitude and the mental conditioning that is required for exposure to height, rope access technicians who have not been engaged in rope access work for 6 months or more are required to attend a convenient refresher course before being allowed to work. For Level 1 rope access technicians, the refresher course will include all techniques covered in the initial rope access course. Levels 2 and 3 will focus on rigging and rescue procedures. The length of the rope access training course will be dependent upon assessment by our trainer.
